SEED_2065 is a radical futurist artistic experiment starting from the premise that we live in the post-anthropocentric world of 2065: humans are no longer considered, (and no longer consider themselves), exceptional, but are engaged in repairing the damage to relationships between humans and nonhumans, and between humans and the earth. Possibly artists in this future, are Chimera or part machine or from another world. Our artworks may be artefacts from 2065, or may be archival artefacts that recall the violence from the past.
Perhaps some kind of drastic event occurred around 2035 to bring about this radical shift in the anthropocentric values existing in the first half of the 21st century. Artworks may also focus on clarifying this drastic event and its impacts.
Seed_2065 is focused on:
- Visual and linguistic experiments in imagining the human-more-than-human relationship differently
- Developing alternative hopeful narratives about future ecosystems, and creating a non-anthropocentric language for this future.
- Imagining worlds where the human is no longer viewed as exceptional, but exists in harmony with all ‘other’ living beings
- Curating art exhibitions, publications, events – open to the public and also for artists’ development and support
- Organising workshops, open to all interested in discussing related ideas e.g. Utopian thinking, art for change, ethics.
- Offering group crits for artworks focused on a non-anthropocentric future for human-more-than-human relationships.
